• If all the Hallmark Christmas cards sold in Canada were lined up end to end, they would stretch back and forth from Toronto to the North Pole six times.
• After Christmas, Valentine’s Day is the second-largest card-sending occasion. Approximately 40 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year.
• Hallmark produced its first Valentine’s Day card in 1913. Today, Hallmark manufactures more than 1,288 Valentine’s Day cards.
• Mother’s Day is the third-largest card-sending occasion. Over nine million cards are given each year. Hallmark offers more than 1,000 designs. The observance of Mother’s Day became official in 1914.
• Father’s Day is the fourth largest card-sending occasion. Mrs. Sonora Dodd of Washington first proposed the idea of a Father’s Day in 1909.
